The owners of this beautiful home have incredibly refined taste but also required that each item selected be durable and low maintenance to live up to their busy lifestyle. The kitchen was taken down to the studs and completely re-designed keeping this design brief in mind the whole way through. It sits perched above the hills of Tiburon overlooking the bay with sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge so we wanted to incorporate the natural elements from the water and the hills in the overall scheme. This kitchen was all about the mix of materials and we labored over the cabinetry finish which ended up being the showstopper. The cabinets are all custom made in rift sawn white oak with a custom fumed finish. It took many iterations to get it right, but as you know, the devil is in the details. The banquette area is kid proof with the seat upholstered in an easy to clean leather and the back fabric being vinylized allowing it to stand up to family dinners and school projects while still looking beautiful.
