At Julie Rootes Interiors, we partner with our clients to create transformative moments for interiors both grand and discrete.
Project management and an eye for detail are both threaded into every interior project we take on. We strive to deliver a best-in-class experience for all of our clients.
Here is how we approach a results-driven design process for interior design.
Initial Consultation & Discovery
Every project begins with an open-eyed discovery phase, including visits to your site and a scope and budgeting development phase to match.
Engagement Fee/Retainer
Upon signing your letter of agreement, a retainer will be requested or your project scope. Upon receipt, your project will begin!
Note: This initial retainer paid to JRI will be held until the completion of the project. Upon completing all services under the Agreement, JRI will deduct any outstanding billable hours from the Initial Retainer.
Inspiration & Design Concepts
The initial creative phase begins with the development of schematics, furniture plans, mood boards, and more to identify your desired aesthetic.
This is one of the more iterative stages of our interior design process steps and is one in which we invite you to participate as you’re comfortable.
Elevations
If your home is undergoing construction with us, our interior design process with design development will also include taking site elevations.
Note: furnishing-only customers will skip this step for the interior design process.
Plan Finalizing & Procurement
The next interior design process step involves procuring the necessary materials for finishing. Depending on the scope of your project, this can include:
Wallcoverings
Paint
Fabrics
Lighting
Rugs
Window Treatments
Furnishing and Upholstery
Art and Accessories
And More
Construction clients will also see some of the following procured during this phase as well:
Appliances
Hardware
Plumbing
And More
Note: All goods purchased by JRI will be received, inspected, and stored by our trusted storage partner. Once we begin receiving your goods, you will be billed for monthly storage fees.
Hourly Time Billing
Julie Rootes Interiors follows an hourly time billing process. As the team works on your project, you will be billed for our time. Hourly time billing Invoices are sent out at the beginning of each month.
The design fee/rate includes any and all work done by the design team on your project. This includes design development, sourcing products, vendor communication, drafting, administrative work, and travel.
Installation
Installation represents the final step of our design process for interior design. Each element in your space is installed and finished per our agreed upon scope documentation
Project Wrap-Up
Upon completed inspections and approvals, the steps for our interior design process are done and you are free to enjoy your new space as you see fit!
